Photo Finish: Double Exposure

We were so impressed with the composition of these two photo submissions that we couldn’t chose just one—so we decided to run both of them—enjoy!

Couch With a View

The juxtaposition of the couch surrounded by desert makes for the perfect family portrait. Taken by Todd Shockley, the photo features Jazlynn Aaron Brady and her twin sisters Zoey and Emma. It was taken with a Nikon D800, 70-200 2.8 Zoom lens on Thanksgiving Day, 2014. Settings used were 112mm, f/7.1, at 1/400 sec. A resident of Havasu since 1978, Todd said he first became interested in photography at age seven, when he sent in box tops from Honeycomb cereal for a free 35mm camera (it actually worked).

Frozen

Frozen

This photo was taken by Stacey Byram at Body Beach with her cell phone. Sadie, age eight, is a resident of Lake Havasu and was enjoying a dip in the lake. The snapshot captures water flowing from her hair—giving it a look of being frozen. Excellent composition capturing the moment.
