Williams is known as the “Gateway to the Grand Canyon®”. Definitely experiencing all four seasons, Williams is known for area fishing lakes, hiking trails up Bill Williams Mountain and into Sycamore Canyon, an alpine ski area and cross country ski trails, and an abundance of wildlife. Williams offers unlimited recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast.
Located in the heart of the Kaibab National Forest, Williams is a quaint town nestled at the base of Bill Williams Mountain in one of the largest Ponderosa Pine Forests in the world. Williams was the last town on Historic Route 66 to be bypassed by Interstate 40. Today the community thrives on tourism.
With summer temperature highs reaching a comfortable mid-70s to mid-80s with lows in the upper 60s, Williams is definitely the place to beat the heat.
