Lake Havasu City, AZ (Oct. 19, 2013) — Lake Havasu City dignitaries dedicated the new Patrick A. Tinnell Memorial Sports Complex with a full military honor guard to commemorate the life of BMX biker and U.S. Army SPC Patrick Tinnell, killed in action in April 2006 at the age of 25.
The Street League Skateboarding-certified skate park immediately opened to avid skateboard, BMX bike and scooter competitors who crowded around the facility’s signature attraction: a giant replica of Tinnell’s U.S. Army helmet. The new park is nearly the size of a football field with million dollar lake and mountain views. Guests included Street League Skateboarding founder, pro skater and MTV star Rob Dyrdek, Street League Skateboarding pros Manny Santiago and Chaz Ortiz, and legendary Pro BMXer Mat Olson.
