It’s much more than a slogan coined by the Lake Havasu City Convention and Visitors Bureau…for local residents, it’s a way of life. After all, the reason people vacation here, and move here, is because of the beautiful, year round weather and abundance of outdoor (and indoor) activities. Ask a local where one of the best places to swim is… they’ll tell you the Infinity Pool located at the Nautical, a great place to relax and only steps from the beach and lake. Best of all—swimming at the pool is always free to locals!
The no-wake rule of the Bridgewater Channel makes it the perfect place to get out and paddleboard. Not only is it a great way to get into shape and strengthen your core, but it gives you a unique perspective of being out on the lake without a motorized vehicle.
Grab some friends and hit the beach at Rotary Park. Start a volleyball match in the sand or join in on an existing game and make some new friends!
Oh yeah, it’s as much fun as it looks! Given the great weather and comfortable water temperature, it’s easy to see why the International Jet Sports Boat Association (IJSBA) World Finals are held here every year. This year’s world-class competition runs October 3-11, 2015.
An early start to the day and a bike ride can be refreshing. The scenery at Rotary Park is breathtaking and the ride is on mostly level terrain.
What good is a lake if you can’t go fishing? Casting a line is an age old tradition that teaches patience and endurance. It’s also a good way to bond.

There is no age limit, the playing area is smaller than tennis, the ball is softer, the paddle is large, and the rules are simple—that’s the big draw of Pickleball! There’s a national phenomenon sweeping the country with Pickleball courts springing up almost everywhere. Havasu is no exception. Pickleball has become so popular in Lake Havasu that the city has money in its budget for pickle ball courts—the location of the courts has yet to be determined, all players need is to get a pickleball paddle to enjoy them. For now, pickleball is being played by hundreds of Havasuvians all over town on private courts, as well as an increasing number of public courts like the ones located at the Ark Center located at 2700 S. Jamaica Blvd.
One of the driving forces behind the pickleball growth in Havasu is the husband/wife team of Tim and Carol Weaver, local Ambassadors for the USA Pickleball Association. Carol attributes the growing success of the sport due to it being easy to play, “There’s less moving around because the court is smaller.” Tim notes that the first courts were located at the Aquatic Center, “We started with just a few participants at the Aquatic Center in 2011, now we have a list of over 400!”
