A lone cactus appears to be taking in the final rays of sunlight in the desert north of town. The starkness of the desert floor accentuates the green of the cactus while the cactus spines appear to shimmer in the fading light. The colors of the clouds and sky further accentuate the lack of contrast in the rocky foreground.
Jamie snapped this shot off Chenoweth, behind Lowes. “I actually work on the road most of the year and was so excited to be home to see a sunset finally, so I figured that since it was Jan 1st, I should probably take a photo of the first sunset of the year so I could remember it.” Jamie used her iPhone 7 Plus to capture the photo.
