Dusk in Havasu is a magical time of day when the setting sun casts a spectrum of colors across a cloud-speckled sky. One always has to pause to marvel at the variety of sunsets in Havasu—it seems as if our sunsets work hard to always outdo the previous ones. In this instance, Nick Christensen managed to capture the reflective beauty of a recent sunset after returning from a day of cruising on the lake.
The dynamics of this photo are tied to the fact that the reflective colors of the water mesmerize one into thinking the lake is on fire with the boats adrift in a sea of color. Anyone out on the lake (or on the shore) that evening was treated to a display of colors that won’t soon be forgotten. And if you missed it, here it is in print, courtesy of Nick Christensen and LIVING Magazine.
